I am Marco Mari, and this research builds on ten years of fieldwork in Italian and U.S. manufacturing hubs and communities carried out by myself and the team at Italia Innovation.
It now represents the core research activity of my PhD program at Politecnico di Milano, supervised by Professor Luca Grilli, Full Professor of Business and Industrial Economics in the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering.
Alongside my entrepreneurial experience at Italia Innovation, which I co-founded in 2015, I have held creative leadership positions in two leading Italian industrial groups, Benetton and Illy.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Juridical Science from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano and a Master of Liberal Arts in International Relations from Harvard University.
